This is a Mechanics Machine Company, belt driven drill press. Like all of my grandfathers equipment it has been in his pattern shop since the early 1950's. He purchased this used from a local pattern / machine shop around 1950-51. He told me once that is was made in 1895. I'm not sure how accurated thst is but it is probably close. It was last used in the mid 1960's for making patterns. I'm not sure if it still works but my guess is with a little work it would be just fine. It is powered by a Wagner Electric Corporation Model #9R42B583, 2 hp, 1ph, 21.2amp motor. The finish is just as it was purchased in the 50's. It is showing some rust from lack of use over the past 40 years.
