Following the OWWM tradition of naming machinery (i.e. ElGuapo, LaUnisawita, LaJoinita and LaGrinita) I am submitting my latest find - LaParkita. This #97 Parks 12" planer came from a local school surplus auction. I just purchased it from the gentleman that got it at the auction but moved on and no longer had need of the planer. Two concerns - the guard is not the original OEM and the Parks logo plate has been steel wooled clean so no serial numbers (or paint) are present. The guy that bought it at the auction thought that Krylon primer was the way to tune up/touch up the planer. The numbers 27613 are stamped in the right front vertical table raising support. All I have done thus far is to wipe it down with some degreaser and clean the bare metal surfaces. The OEM 2 HP motor wins the prize for being the largest and heaviest in my shop of machines. Be Safe, Mark V. (Woodbutcher)
