Comments:
I found this machine along with 3 others in an older gentleman's barn, and bought the lot.

The band saw is almost complete, only missing the front blade guard, drive belt guard, and original cover fasteners. The wheel bearings seem to be in good shape, although it may be a bit too soon to tell. The tires show a bit of age cracking and the blade thrust bearings are stiff and rough.

I have not done too much with this saw besides pull the covers to inspect the tires, spin the wheels to see how free they moved, and listen for bad noises. I tried tilting the table and ran the upper guide holder up and down. Beyond that, it waits for its turn.

**UPDATE** Restoration nearing completion. The bandsaw has been stripped, blasted and painted. New wheel bearings and urethane tires, new upper and lower guide thrust bearings and blocks, and a new blade were installed. I found the base, motor, blade guard, and belt guard for it through ebay. I had replica cover fasteners made using an original I had as the pattern. The original wooden rear blade guard was split so I fabricated a new one from samarupa.

As you can see the latest pictures were taken just after I received the stand and hooked up the bandsaw to the motor for the first time. I have since found the shaft cover for the motor and the belt guard but have not gotten around to installing them for pictures. Once I refinish the base assembly, including bearings and paint for the motor I will post a final completion shot.

I have used the bandsaw with the unfinished base for a couple for projects. It's a pleasure to use, fairly quiet and smooth, but could use a power twist belt to reduce vibration.
