Comments:
I found this machine along with 3 others in an older gentlemans barn, and bought the lot. He was not the original owner so could not give me any historical information about how they ended up there or how they were used. He had never used them himself, or even realised they were there until he cleaned out the barn in preparation to sell the property. None of the machines came with their original stands or motors.
The saw is fairly complete, only missing the miter gage, table insert, and blade guard assembly. I have had this on the bench to check the table tilt and raise mechanisms and, while they are stiff from years of inactivity, they work fine. The arbor bearings are rough and dry, so they will have to be replaced.
I intend to do a full restoration, including de-rusting and paint, with new arbor bearings. I will try to find all the missing bits and pieces, including a correct stand and motor. I figure, between the four machines, I have about a year of OWWM enjoyment lined up for myself. I will update the posting with "after" pics once the restoration is complete. (No really, I mean it!)
If anyone can help me find a blade guard assembly, including the support arm and guard, I would appreciate it. I have already acquired casting that holds the arm from Ebay.
**UPDATE**
This machine still sits in the rat hole awaiting restoration. I actually have 2 of these now and both are waiting. I have acquired the stand, belt guard, blade guard and splitter, and table inserts for this. Now I'm just waiting for the spare time to get it done.
