Rescued this old table saw from a farm estate sale, looked like it had been rode hard and put away wet. The original motors was a 1.5 hp, Spa motor, and very heavy, so I downsized the motor to a 3/4 hp, 3450rpm, 115 v. Gould and had to switch the yellow and blue wires in the electrical cavity to make the motor run CCW; as the arbor pulley is on the right side looking from the front, opposite of Craftsman. Everything seemed to work ok with a little WD-40 applied to it's old joints. It's a saw where the motor is married to the blade arbor so when you make angle cuts the motor rotates too. I like these types. I put the Switch box on the front of the Stand, and a Receptacle box on the rear stand, and wired the switch to make the recept. hot when switch is on; then all I have to do is have a short cord on the motor to plug in to the recpt. The paint was a Rust-olem Charcoal Gray from Home Depot, and works well. The original Rockwell paint was a lite gray, but I liked the charcoal gray better, so it's not restored to original Rockwell-Delta color. I love saving these old machine for our future generations, and a lot of the younger woodworkers realize the workmanship that went into these Old Wood Working Machines as compared to a lot of the "throw away" machines we have today. Don't do as much in restoring machines these days, as my human machine is slowing down in dire need of a complete and massive overhaul. Hope you enjoy this info and the pictures and if you got any question feel free to drop me a messg. Thanks.
