Delta Milwaukee Homecraft belt driven grinder.
Missing both tool rests and one arbor flange.
The Oilite bronze bearings are worn so I plan on replacing them.
>>HISTORY<<
September 2015:
This grinder was run by a same vintage ¼hp GE motor and used in the Harley-Davidson York PA factory.
A fellow OWWMer picked it up for me at auction and another brought it to me at ArnFest 2015.
No further history is known.
August 2016:
Disassembled, including removal of worn Oilite bearings.
Washed parts in Zep Purple, which also removed the non-factory layers of paint.
Walnut shell blasted the head and guards.
Rustoleum 2X primer and two coats Rustoleum 7587 Dark Machine Gray High Performance Enamel spray paint.
Polished steel parts using a Scotchbrite EXL, and Tripoli charged cotton buffing wheels.
Special ordered replacement Oilite bearings from Accurate (longer length than normally stocked in the hardware stores).
Touched up tag with a red Sharpie and applied a Krylon clear coat.
December 2016:
Reassembled.
Found a similar replacement arbor flange.
Pressed new Oilite bearings nearly flush with outside surface of casting and leaving approximately .01" axial clearance.
Test run on my mobile wooden stand, using a Craftsman ½ hp 1750 rpm motor, floating motor rail, and 6"x½"x½" grinding wheels.
