This 'Delta' sander is a faithful reproduction in aluminum. It has the Delta casting numbers e.g., (DS-4 in upper shroud). I suspect that the previous owner borrowed one from a buddy and cast it himself. The box within the stand holds a dust collector made by the Ideal Commutator Corporation of Sycamore, Illinois, and the stand is well-made out of angle.
I'd say this is from a really resourceful fellow. I bought it off of craigslist from two millennial. It had a tag from the garage sale where it did not sell. I didn't push on the origin too much in case the maker was recently deceased.
