Hi, I'm Dave and an complete newbie to vintage machinery and OWWM. I bought this lathe from a guy in southern WA state. He said he bought the lathe 3 years ago and turned a few table legs with it. I paid $300 for the lathe and tools shown....probably too much. I am missing a few things and not sure how available they are. I understand that the W/T spindle with 8 tpi are propritary to W/T/ How hard will it be to find an outboard faceplate for outboard turning? Also missing the (don't know the proper term) do-dah that locks the pulley/spindle. The bearings spin freely and I don't anticipate any problems with the spindle at this point. I have a segmented pulley that is too large, and the rivets are rusty. Any suggestions on how to separate the links and shorten? I have what I assume are oil ports on the top/exterior of the spindle. It has a 1/2 hp motor that seems to be ok. I love the mechanical cam device that allows for changing the belt/speed location.

picture shows the outboard tool rest. Looking at the outboard side of the spindle, what is the procedure to remove the (rusty) sleeve? Does it thread off? I have removed the two hex head flush screws, but no movement. I didn't want to put a pipe wrenc

I read that to remove the spindle? from the tail piece, to roll the spindle all the way back and it will pop out......doesn't work on this piece. Also, anyone know how available a chuck is for the inboard/outboard threads? Lots of questions, thanks for
