Comments:
I purchased this saw from a fellow that had had it stored in his garage for years. The wheel covers had been stored outside and were badly rusted and required stripping and repainting (the rest of the saw retains what appears to be the original finish). He said he had the motor for it but could never find it. I have an old Craftsman ½ hp motor (1725 rpm)on it that works great.

The saw was made for both metal and wood use (hence the "Duplex" label) and utilizes a 1:8 transmission for metal cutting. An interesting feature of this saw is its movable table. The table can be turned on an axis parallel with the blade about 40 degrees to enable the cutting of material longer than the 14" throat of the saw (see picture). The lower blade guides move with the table thus turning the blade and keeping it in line with the face of the table. A very handy feature indeed!

The saw was in very good condition when I acquired it. The transmission was dry and required cleaning. Other than this and the task of derusting and painting the wheel covers (which together weigh about 80 lbs - they are solid cast iron as is the rest of the saw) that was about all that was required to get it up and running. I've used the saw quite a bit to cut annealed tool steel (O1) which it does effortlessly.
