Comments:
I went to look at a vintage bandsaw advertised online in Toronto in Nov. 2013 & PO of that had this in his garage and asked if I wanted it also. He used it as hobbyist and said he had picked it up at a yardsale a few years back. I already had a DP but the price was attractive and I couldn't pass this piece up and will indeed find a use for it. Photos are of DP as found. Unit is very clean and in great running condition with all parts seemingly present. It comes with old vintage motor wired for 115 v ( see photos for more detail ) but cannot tell if original to this unit. Wiring & switch appear to be later modifications/upgrades but not sure...it will clean up easily and be a welcome addition to my shop for whatever purpose I concoct for it.

There are no distinguishable markings of any kind that I can see left...see photo details & descriptions for possible clues. Certainly no riveted data plates of any kind or casting detail to suggest manufacturer. I have gone through this site photo index to no avail ( much to my surprise as machine is pretty distinctive in overall design ) so am posting with appeal for help in ID'ing this further. Then once I have detail needed I will amend this index listing to preserve historical record.

Thanks to all in advance - much appreciated and anticipated !

(Admin-BAK, 12/3/2013: the belt cover decal could be for SKF ball bearings.)

update > August 2015...see new posting http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=21611

It seems this drill press was likely badged as a Mastercraft in it's original iteration, or was at least made by the same manufacturer that oversaw the production of their drill presses from this period. I will maintain this listing as " unknown mftr." and will also place the listing on the Mastercraft site until such time that a definitive manufacturer can be ID'd.
