I purchased this from a kitchen remodler in 2012. He had used the machine for a few years but had no other history on it. The aluminum or pot metal blade guard was sawn through and had been sort of fixed, but my local genius welder was able to repair it properly. The machine had no manufacturer markings except for the word Parks cast into the inside surface of the power sheave. I identified Parks as the manufacturer by comparison to machines in this photo index; Dan Grade's Parks is the same saw.
My plan was to recreate the missing sliding table, but ultimately just fabricated a wooden table. Much easier, and I was losing some momentum with the project.
The open-race bearings were dried out, but with cleaning and re-packing they are smooth as silk. The motor is B-Line, 1/2 hp, 1720 RPM, single phase. It required no repair, but it complains a bit. I could not get the armature out, so one of the bearings remains old and unknown.
I painted the frame with Krylon Italian Olive, the snowflake blade cover with Rustoleum Moss Green, and the wheels and end bells with Rustoleum Appliance Almond.
Remaining to do; I'll try again to disassemble the motor. Also there is a shake in the saw which was not resolved by careful balancing of the wheels. With a new Woodslicer blade, however, it cuts beautifully, so I can wait until the spirit moves me.
