Purchased in July 2015. No history available. Casting date on lathe bed is 3/24/21 (March 24th, 1921). This lathe is missing the letter J before it's serial number. Some South Bend lathes from 1920 and 1921 were produced with a J prefix and a serial number that did not follow the usual sequential numeric serial number of the time. This lathe, dated to 1921, is missing the J stamp but has the serial number that would be appropriate for a J stamped lathe of that time.
