Comments:
I bought this machine (and two others) in July, 2015, from the venerable wood kitchenware firm of J.K.Adams of Dorset, Vermont (who were a pleasure to deal with). The machine is the smallest double spindle shaper Whitney made, a table size of 26 by 36, with spindles 12 inches apart, each thin belt driven by a 2 hp 3450 rpm three phase motor, a handy set up requiring no frequency changer to achieve high spindle speeds (10,500 rpm is specified). Cast iron belt covers and pleasing design all over, planned for use full time light use, however it seems to be an uncommon machine.
