Comments:
I got the serial number card for this lathe from Southbend Lathe Co. It was shipped to the Chicago Engineering Procurement District of the U.S. War Department on 4 August 1943. It's size is listed as a 10L (Heavy 10) x 4 1/2. It originally had a 3/4 hp 3ph 208V AC motor mounted under the lathe. The spindle bore is 1 3/8". The headstock is driven by a flat belt on a cone pulley. It also had metric transposing gears when purchased, but sadly, they are no longer with it. It ended up in the Davis County, Utah School District where it was used in their Industrial Education classes. I bought it from the estate of the person who bought it from the school district.

It has a 3-jaw and 4-jaw chuck, and face plate, plus a taper attachment. Unfortunately, it did not have a tailstock, though I was able to purchase one from e-Bay.
