I saw this saw in the parking lot of a local lumber yard. I was not able to find out anything about the history of the saw other than "It's sold!". The machine was very rusty and had some damage to the hand wheel shafts (bent). It looked like it had been run into by something heavy. The castings seemed to be in good shape, I didn't see any cracks or breaks. It looked sad sitting at an angle on its lower wheel. I will admit I did not linger long. It was about 20 degrees out with 25 mph winds and its hard to use my camera with gloves on.

Oval badge with "Yates" and "312" cast into it
Serial number - 25899
Wheel diameter - 44 inches
Blade width - 4.75 inches

The saw appears to be the same as the No. 312 chain feed vertical band rip saw shown on page 123 of the 1925 Yates American Catalog.
