In rebuilding this machine I replaced the gaskets with both paper as well as liquid gasket making materials. The one beneath the machine leaked. The second time, I used only the liquid gasket. No Problems Yet! I also replaced the boot with a steering boot from a Volkswagon. It was a little bit bigger, but I turned some rings from a PVC fitting to take up the slack. It is Zip tied in place and a metal plate on top holds it down. I found through trial and error a pretty good way to make spindles, I plan to write a page about that. I used the Delta 3" set of drums and turned my own spindles.
