This is the infamous Parks 12" thickness planer which may also be seen under the Craftsman badge. They are identical machines manufactured by Parks. This 12" planer is built like a 5 H.P. 30" planer, but is just scaled down a bit. Prior to restoration my Parks planer was out of service for seven years sitting in the back of a cabinet makers shop. The stand is a copy of the original cast iron stand but made from MDF. It was scaled from a catalog sheet. My machine uses a two horsepower motor. Parks recommends one to three horsepower. Most parts are still available from Morrison [Parks Repair] in Covington, KY. Morrison's address as well as an owners manual and parts list is available elsewhere on this site.
