I had been looking for this model jointer for a while because my 4" craftsman jointer was a little small for some of my projects. I finally have it's big brother now! Thanks to a fellow OWWM member who knew I was looking and alerted me when one showed up on Craig?s list!

This is going to be my first real restoration project. All I have done on my other machines is clean them up and fix or replace broken parts. The only things missing on this jointer are the guard and the needle to indicate dept of cut (the scale is there). I think I can make a substitute of both of these when the time comes. It came with this stand which is pretty good besides it's color :-) And a huge 1/2 hp craftsman motor. It weighs as much as the jointer! The machine has been painted a shade of blue and two different shades of green over the original color. It is proving a little tough to get off.

Wish me luck! And thanks to everyone who has posted pictures and comments about their 102.05600!

***** Restoration update. So far so good. I did uncover a few things when I got the paint off. The main support piece for the Fence (the piece that recieves the large bar from the jointer) had broken sometime in the past and was welded back together. It is a nice job, I think, as it fits together perfect. Also the screws that held the needle for the scale are broken off in the holes. That should be fun to get out! Other than that I just need to prime the rest, paint, and buy a new set of knives and I think I'm ready to go. hmm... except maybe the stand and motor need a little attention too :-)

***** Restoration update. Jointer is done except I need to fabricate a new needle assembly for the depth gauge. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way!!!
