Comments:
This machine was one of two Syracuse sanders I took from the pattern shop of the S. J. Creswell Iron Works, 23rd and Cherry Streets, in Philadelphia, PA, around 1978, or so. The sister machine to this is a 15" disc sander. (Photos available.)

A broken cast brass or bronze connecting rod in this machine was repaired this year.

I believe Creswell bought these machines new and that I am the second owner. If Creswell bought these in the 20's and kept them to the 70's, they had them for around fifty years. I've now had them for around 26 years.
