Purchesed this machine Wednesday at an estate sale. Paid $30.00. During the preview I looked ove the sander an noticed several parts were missing. While looking over the other machinery I found several parts to the sander lying under a table saw. I found the extra disk, mitre gauge, belt fence and the disk guard so I stacked them all on the shelf under the stand and waited for the auctioneer to get around to it. Opened at $20.00 and got it for $30.00.
When I got home I opened the OWWM site and found several articles on this machine. I printed them all. While reading them that evening I noticed that the missing parts I found and reunited were orignally sold as extra accessories. So I think I got a good deal. Now I have a piece of old arn to fix up. I started cleaning the machine today and havn't gotten to the motor yet. When I plugged it in lightening appeared and the power cord became disnconnected at the motor end. I took off the plate and attached a new cord and plug and the motor seems to run OK. All I can read on the name plate is Craftsman and 3450 rpm until I get it cleaned up. By the way, there did not appear to be a connection for the ground wire. Any suggestions?
I also purchased a Craftsman model 103.27270 table saw for $25.00. It came with two mitre gauges, one Craftsman and one Boyce Crane. I missed bidding on a craftsman bench top drill press (the model with the red art deco handles and levers) that went for $25.00.
