Comments:
These are old Library of Congress photographs of the Fox Trimmer in the pattern shop at the Edison National Historic Park in West Orange, NJ. I cropped them down so that just the trimmer would be visible. I've been corresponding with an employee of the park regarding this machine, and hope to obtain a current picture to post in the near future.

The 6-F was Fox's second largest trimmer. Like the bigger 8-F, it featured chain drive, which allowed a longer stroke than rack & pinion gear trimmers. It's the only "F" model Fox trimmer that I know still exists.

This one still has the original and very rare "triangle gauges" which are stored in their brackets on the sides of the machine's column. Being an "F", it's also equipped with Fox's patented "Adjustable Roller Portable Stand", which operates very much like today's Vega Machinery Mover stands. It allows the heavy machine to be moved easily, yet also permits to sit firmly on the floor when not being transported.
