This Oliver 192 bandsaw spent its entire life until the last 1/2 of today in an unbelievably cool pattern making shop. This saw was direct wired, and we had to walk through the shop to find one of seven single @ 3 phase electric boxes hidden throughout the shop. Looking through the inside of the electric breaker boxes I noticed many circuits given the names of the original workers of the small pattern maker factory. This factory had a complete metal shop, wood shop and a foundry for casting many metals. (Bunks of Mahogany wood still exist.) Every machine in the shop was top notch and very very very well maintained over the last 80 to 100 plus years. I was able to get a couple of machines because the shop only uses cnc machines for the most part, plus some Bridgeport milling machines. I am putting this Oliver on plus a couple other machines to commemorate the shop, as I think it is closing soon. i have been wanting this band saw for years and mentioned this to the owner. Several years passed, and he finally let me purchase it for a very very modest price. This gentleman is extremely talented and gracious to say the least!! I really am amazed that the previous shop men kept the original water slide decal that is under the Oliver badge, that it was not painted over. The motor is a Master (3 phase motor) I am going to venture into a phase converter, or rotary converter for this machine, and sell off the other band saw I just finished restoring. ((Perhaps)) I will not do anything else to this machine as the patina is perfect to my eyes!!!!! To be honest, I think I may be done pouring over the C-list for machines as my shop is really fun to use!!!!! I was also given over twenty blades for this saw in unused condition.

When I first started in on the dismantling to allow me to take this home in the back of my prious, the bandsaw was filled with Mahogany shavings, bright orange in color.
