This machine also came from William Tell Woodcrafters. I got it in spring 2004. The vertical acuator was frozen and had to be freed up. This differs from others in that instead of a mechanical pedal to operat the up down motion of the spindle this unit has a pneumatic cylinder. These machines have some advantages and some disadvantages. The good thing is that you can move the pedal when working on large or akward pieces. Also you don't have to have you foot on the pedal all the time. The bad thing about the air accuated models is as my old foreman used to put it,"You can't set the &@#% things up."
What he was complaining about is the fact that you can't ease the bit into the piece for a test. Its either up or down. I overcome this by havin a scrap board handy all the time.
I put this machine under the Onsrud Machine Works page which coinsides with the location on the machine, but the logo is that used currently by C R Onsrud. I noticed this at IWF 2004 in Atlanta.
