This 1922 Wallace band saw was originally my grandfathers. It then went to my great uncle, then to my dad, and then finally to me. It is all original except for the following few things my dad fixed on it in the late 70's or early 80's. First he got a new upper wheel. I'm not sure where he got it from, (I know Wallace was out of business by then) but I do remember him saying that the place he got it from told him that it was only 1 of 2 new wheels left in the counrty for that machine. Next, he put a new on/off switch on as there was a short in the old one. He also hand made new pieces to replace a missing stop on the blade guide bar and throat plate. He then painted it black. The orignal motor & name plate are still on it, and it runs great. The only question I have is what is it that looks like a rod on the "Wallace idea" ads that is not on this machine. Thanks to some folks at old woodworking machines, I now know that the date stamped on the blade guide is Nov. 21, 1922 I also measured the size for the first time in years & have discovered this is actually a 16", not a 14" as previously mentioned. Any info can go to neily@wauknet.com Thanks
