Comments:
I purchased this lathe in 2013 from Craig's List for $250.00. It was in poor rusted condition, but all the original pieces were there. I rebuilt and improved it over 8 weeks.
- I created the rolling chassis from 1 x 4 steel rectangular tubing with heavy duty casters.
- Rolling Frame and Original Cabinet were powdercoated (includes custom brackets to hold lathe tool box).
- I added grey solid surface counter top material on top of both sides of the cabinet.
- I repainted the Lathe using Krylon gloss grey spray paint.
- I cleaned and rebuilt all parts.
- Motor is original and runs well using reeves drive and segmented belts.
- I also replicated both original decals (Equipment dealer sticker on right is original).
- I am using the original shaft bearings which I carefully rebuilt, but I was able to find a replacement set that fits. I will replace the originals with the replacement set if needed.
The lathe now runs excellent and I use it frequently.
