Used on a 10" Boice-Crane table saw. Purchased roughly same time (1948) as table saw. Original paint, now discolored with age. Weight including Boice-Crane sliding pulley = 51 lbs. Scale in photos is metric.

A few drops of SAE30 weight non-detergent oil in each oil cup at the start of use per day. Over oiling will over flow onto saw frame. Always vacuumed clean and wiped with dry cloth each night. A canvas sail cloth is placed over the entire saw, including motor, each night and in storage to protect from dust. My father's comment about the machines: "Treat them well and they will treat you well. NEVER ride them hard and put away wet."

The motor was out of the saw to fix a problem with the belt tensioning bolts. It was the first time since 1965 the motor was out. The motor ran on 110V until 1981(when 220V was pulled to the shop.) On 110V the entire house dimmed for 1.5sec (even though 200AMP service) until the rpms reached full speed. (Just enough load and fast enough to avoid tripping the breaker.) Then no problem powering the saw through the heaviest cuts. On 220V it comes to speed almost instantly, but no noticeable gain in power since it more than adequate for the work load.
