Comments:
This machine was owned by an older woodworker in Minnesota named Verne. Several of us toured his shop, and some kept in touch over the years, though sadly, Verne passed away a few years ago.

Eric Tuck took these photos, and forwarded them on to me, as I have recently obtained an early Ekstrom Carlson edge sander that is very similar to this machine, which will be posted soon.

The patent drawings seem to indicate that this machine was probably intended to be run off of a flat-belt system, though a motor drive seems to appear in one 1920s-era advertisement. This machine appears to have been modified with a second motor to drive the oscillating mechanism--a modification that echoes the evolution of this machine into the Ekstrom Carlson 112.
