This saw was originally posted by Donald Reid on 2006-11-02. That entry was inadvertently corrupted and I had to re-create his entry.
Donald's original text:
'Purchased from Eaton's of Canada in Toronto late 1965. It was an "as is" clearance item, sale price $269.00 marked down from $329.00. The reason given for the sale was "one only".
It is my supicion that Eaton's had intended to include this item as part of its line of TECOmaster tools but it didn't workout. There was no user manual supplied with the purchase. Based on information I obtained from OWWM I have conclded that it is a Rockwell 900 10".'
The saw appears to be a Canadian made Delta/Rockwell/Beaver "Super 900" model. See the last photo for an example of the same saw carrying the Beaver brand.
I ended up acquiring this saw from Mr. Reid. At the time (2006) I thought it was a unique item, perhaps a manufacturer's prototype. But in the past couple of years a catalog entry and at least a half dozen identical saws have surfaced. Here's the link to the 1965 Eaton's catalog page:
