I got this lathe in 1980 from my father-in-law who had purchased it new in 1940. Every part is original. I just finished a total restoration. Since I could not find the original paint color I opted to stay with the blue and used RustOleum "Navy Blue". I believe the motor is the same vintage, it's a 1/2 hp Delco "Hobby Motor". Since I have a very small shop I have to keep it "portable" so I put threaded inserts into my bench for both the lathe and adjustable motor mount that I fabricated from scraps. After just installing 8 bolts I'm ready to turn! I also changed to a Jason adjustable belt and I'm amazed how smooth it runs. After 75 years it's ready to go another 75!
