This jointer belongs to a member of a francophone woodworking forum. Pictures are posted with his permission.
The jointer was owned by his father-in-law and he will try to to question him about the machine's history.

Interesting to note is the four anchoring points and the table knobs that are very similar to the Continental model (posted besides in orange - photo 3).
General switched to the 3 anchor points in 1948 according to my observations.
I have posted pictures of a few 6" General jointers. This one is the oldest and the only one bearing those knobs. There are two others that carry the four anchor points.
