This does not belong to me.
I spotted this on e--y and did not recognize the OSU cast. I contacted the owner and was told this drill press, as with others, was a project machine manufactured by the Industrial and Systems Engineering students at Ohio State University during the 1970's and early 80's. He also informed me that department also manufactured other types of machines as well. Upon further inquiry I'm told these were mostly project machines but some were actually used where there was a need for that particular tool. With the exception of the motor and belt all parts were manufactured at OSU. I will be talking to the current OSU Dept head who oversees the molding and casting section of that dept to determine what other machines were manufactured and how they may have been used.
The leaf on the right side is a Buckeye leaf.
This is the description given by the owner:

Vintage OSU Ohio State University Bench Top Drill Press
OSU Industrial and Systems Engineering
Cast, Machined, and Assembled on the OSU Main Campus
Has 3 speed pulley positions and 3 1/2" drill travel depth
Has a internal light
The base is 10" by 14 1/2" and it is about 34 1/2" tall
Made to be bench or drill stand mounted
About 46 lbs
!!Correction: I was corrected in that the leaf is not as stated in the original entry but a Buckeye leaf.
