This is a model Super 990-10 which means it comes with a 10" blade guard. Though I use an 8" blade I like having the option of using a 10" blade. The Super 990 is a much more robust and heavier saw than the Delta 900 it is replacing, 8 amps vs 10 amps, and the difference is noticeable. I bought the saw from a C/L seller for $50. I should have checked things out a little bit instead of trusting the seller. Both index pin housing were broken. Fortunately for me my brother is a machinist, I sent him the broken housing, he made new ones for me out of aluminum billet. Perfect! Otherwise I would have had to pay $25 or more apiece on EBay. I made a new table and back board. I sprayed everything that could or would move with WD40 every once in a while for a week before starting the tune up process. The tune up went smoothly, taking only about an hour. I did have to spray the column a number of times, raising, wiping, spraying, lowering, wiping and etc. a number of times before the column was clean and working smoothly. The carriage bearings and ways were like new and glide along almost effortlessly, and the motor purrs like a kitten. I really like the upfront located elevation crank and the manual brake. I have a DeWalt 790 17 amp saw waiting to be fixed up, I hoping I will like the Super 990 best.
