Purchased this machine form a woman who was liquidating her elderly father's tools. Originally advertised at $25, I ended up paying $50 for the machine. Pictures do not show it much but the paint was badly cracked in a number of places. This was taken down to the bare metal. Casting was pretty rough - spent a lot of time filling imperfections in the casting. Dis-assembly of the machine took about 3 weeks - NOTHING was coming apart easily. Replaced the Morse taper spindle with a Jacobs taper spindle, added the multi-speed attachment, fabricated the handle for the motor mount and multi-speed. ALL bearings replaced incuding the motor bearings. The Drill press is pretty smooth running. The off-white paint came about after a few failed attempts to match the factory paint. The motor mount is not original - apparently some time in the past it broke and the previous owner fabricated the one shown in the photos - it is very well done! Needs new belts which I will put on in the near future.
The multi-speed pulley is the one that I repaired and posted on this site,
Tried a couple of different chucks - currently has a Jacobs - run-out about .004" 2" from end of chuck.
