The specs, above, were updated to reflect that this W-T radial drill is Model No. RD-1170, which is the original version of this machine. I am estimating the probable manufacture date to be late 1940 thru 1941. This model, the 4 speed version, was introduced late in 1940 or in 1941, but was discontinued by mid-1944 in favor of the model with an integrated jack-shaft (16-speed version). I have dated this machine to early in that range due to the presence of the rectangular model number badge (see the photos below), which was discontinued around 1941 in favor of stamping the model/serial number info onto the main badge (which in this case would have been on the front face of the headstock). The "Machine Size" for the radial drill was also updated to reflect it's maximum capacity (the maximum reach from drill center to column is 31", while the minimum reach is 13"). Admin:dg
