I see another member posted this machine as we listed in Ebay - Here's some additional info you may find useful..
Ground up restoration - this model was discontinued by Rockwell International in 1958. I highly suspect that Rockwell used the sister variable speed Walker Turner design as a template to their redesigned 12" model, cat No. 46-500, which was similar looking to the W-T and finally featured a gap bed. There may have been a patent issue on the gap feature that prevented earlier introduction by the Walker Turner competition, now I'm speculating..
Truely well designed with heavy ribbed bed - but like any used lathe - always inspect the spindle for runout, taper surface for galling, thread condition, and headstock pulley condition. The 1"-12 RH and LH spindle threads make finding a faceplate a challenge - although Grizzly sells a lathe with this spindle thread, perhaps a source for the desparate. The bearings in these are not "standard" - they used a double row 6205 in front, and single row 6205 in rear, both with slightly opened bores from stock dimension. We have ours customized via our bearing distributor, otherwise pack the originals and live with the noise. Although the T-Rest assemblies were cast, they were a little on the light side - the Delta's had an edge there. The pivoting motor bracket was only available on the later models, and made the chore of changing belt position a 10 second piece of cake - nice design by far. These are more then adequately powered by the popular 1/2HP Driver Line motor - as shown in this machine. The cast stand with original maple shelf boards were a nice bonus.
