This jointer was given to me. I repainted the jointer and original Leland Electric motor. Both were in fairly good condition to begin with but had some flaking paint and scratches. Minor cleanup was required prior to painting. I had to weld some table slide guides which had been broken off. New switch, junction box and wiring was installed. The cutter head guard was missing. I constructed one out of Baltic Birch plywood and aluminum. Thanks to another vintage machinery member for sending me a cardboard template of the guard from his jointer.
All in all a worthwhile project making this jointer a pleasure to use. Solid, heavy and quiet.
