Comments:
Hidden behind a wall for decades, this water pump has been running continuously due to a broken pipe over a deep zinc lined utility basin that the pump is used for draining water from the basement and outside through a pipe on the house. I've shut the water off off so the A.C. Motor model 03337 Type SA frame 147 and Form DB motor would stop running. I was afraid it would burn out or cause a fire especially with the water pipe bursting and spraying hot steamy scalding water all over the small kitchen room in the basement. I see a hole in the basement floor by the pump. This whole set up may have been working for 86 years as the house was built in 1929. But this is scaring me now. Limited income, senior citizen and not knowing what my next move should be. I have to get the hot water pipe fixed for starters, and turn the valve back on that brings water to this basement sink, because it is also connected to the sink directly above it in the main kitchen in the old farmhouse cast iron sink that also has a broken cold water valve. I was fortunate to find only one faucet at Home Depot that will fit this old fashioned sink. Not a good way to start a new year in 2015.
