Found this at a garage sale. Gave about $100 for it, don't remember exactly. It ran when I bought it, but needed a lot of work. The tires looked original, and obviously shot. Had a old coat of brushed on paint, and plenty of rust everywhere. The cabinet came with the saw, and the craftsman that built it was very skilled, and probably built it back in the 50's by the look of the materials used. A 1" riser block was added (see photo) to the top arm to allow the easier to get 80" blades to be used, instead of the original 78" blades. It also raises the cut height to about 6 1/2". I like to keep this saw around with a small 1/8" blade for tight scroll-type cutting. It's best to keep a certain blade in the saw as much as possible due to the fact that tuning it properly is a pain in the backside because of the light-duty and tight-access design of the rub block holders and blade back-up bearings. If you find one for sale, pay particular attention to the wheels as they are just steel stamped wheel halves welded/brazed together, and could be a problem if abused or corroded during its previous time in service. Although somewhat lighter-duty in construction, its a pretty neat and functional saw. - Pick one up if you get the chance.
