Acquired via local on-line ad located in seaside Pacifica, CA. It had been used for years by a now-deceased gentleman who worked on car and motorcycle modifications in his garage. No further history is known.
Despite dismal cosmetics due to many layers of sea salt grime and rust, the machine was plug and play on site. Single phase GE motor, 110/220 wired for 110, fired right up, both drums spun freely, the tension adjustment assembly worked fine, and the entire machine ran very smooth. No noticeable wear groove on the platen. The rare miter gauge was rusted in place in the table slot. Otherwise, no obvious signs of damage or repair, but won't know for sure without working through to bare metal. It appears to be a later (mid-50s) model, badged by Engelberg, Inc., no raised cast letters in the stand, and a coupled motor rather than integral into the castings. Beefy machine, to say the least.
Into the restoration queue it goes.
