Purchased at from auction in 1987 for $75 in Royersford, PA. The lathe had been repaired by the previous owner including new spindle bearings, rewelded tool holder, tool post and motor mount. The motor had been replaced with a 1/2 HP, 220 v 3.6 amp made by Jack & Heinz Precision Industries and delivers more than sufficient power. The original acessory outboard tool rest holder was included and works quite well outboard turning. I replaced the drive belt with a segmented belt, oiled the spindle bearings and gave it a fresh coat of paint. It is a joy to use and delivers as much power as my new Jet 1642 EVS2, although only in 4 speeds. Since the original tailstock was not hollow, I constructed a jig out of cherrywood and an Atlas MT2 tailstock ram (eBay) for long hole boring.
