the lathe was a gift from an uncle. it appears to be unused or very lightly used without the geartrain engaged.
i'm aware that these model lathes were only produced for 1 year in this configuration.
i don't really know the history of the lathe, but i'm looking into that!

(Admin-BAK, 10/20/2014: revised specs. Note: this lathe in Medium Gray was produced from 1949 to the late 1950s. From the late 1950s to the very early 1960s, it was painted Power-Bronze, and had the same model number.)
