This saw was posted for sale on our local Craigslist. The story was that a neighbor had given it to seller, who had no use for it so was selling. I was the first to contact seller, and we agreed on a price and a time to meet. A half-hour later seller called to say that another party had contacted him and offered $25 more . . . did I want to outbid him? I declined. Once seller had proven he was not a man of his word, all bets were off. What happened next was no surprise . . . within 24 hours the saw was for sale on eBay, in parts. Everything of value was being stripped and sold off piece by piece.
This was a really nice intact complete specimen of a BN730. It was a well made machine that survived for somewhere around 75 years, give or take a few. It had generations of useful life left in it. Yet within 24 hours of falling into the wrong hands its history is over, nothing but a pile of parts.
