I purchased this matcher from a sawmiller in Loudon, TN. I am about 25 minutes away. I have contacted Hermance and have spoke with the owner's son about this machine. The ledger states this machine was shipped to Knoxville Power Company on 9/22/1916 and listed it as a No.8. Also, this machine appeared again on the company's ledger in 1952 belonging to J.M Rauser of Sweetwater. The casting however, appears to be a number 2 and not a number 8. The machine is missing the bottom cutterhead assembly and both matcher spindles and cutterheads. Also, the lead screw assembly for adjusting the matcher spindle is missing. I plan on going back to the farm sometime to look for any parts that I can identify belonging to this machine.

I would greatly appreciate any advise and help. I am glad that I kept it out of the scrap yard.
