I purchased this saw from a retiring guy who was the son of the original owner. Upon our arrival at the seller's home to check it out, I found that the saw had actually been sitting in the basement shop of that same house since the early 50's, which is the reason it was in such good shape. It had been used quite a bit but never abused. Unfortunately the original owner had passed and it seemed quite obvious that his son was having a rough time letting it go. With he and his wife tearing up, we ended up agreeing on a fair price after I assured them that it will continue to be well cared for and enjoyed by a 3rd and 4th generation - Myself and my son, who has also become passionate for the woodworking hobby. Once the machine was set up in my shop, the original 1hp motor sounded great and not an ounce of rust was found. After installing my WW2 blade, we ran a few boards of sapele through just to try it out. I will say that this saw is a bear! Very happy with this machine....Maybe one day I'll find the time to give it a full restoration but until then, We'll go on and enjoy working with this wonderful machine!
