This machine was designed by Childs & Co. for Southern Machine Tool. The similarities between this machine and a "true" Childs mill are obvious. At the top of the column it says "00000 Milling Machine". It sits on a 15 1/2" square base. Spindle taper is 2MT. Draw bar is 3/8-16THD. The machine runs nice and quiet. Cuts just fine in soft metals. Weight 50lb. Travels - X:6", Y:1.5", Z:4"
