This is a unique design to my experience of Sagar machinery, though it has been messed about a bit. Its original bearings and cast bearing pillows have been replaced with a steel fabrication carrying 2 more modern self aligning ball race plummer blocks. Perfectly serviceable but i would much prefer it was as intended. I also suspect that the cutter block has been changed from a square one but i'm not certain of that. The tables have a fascinating mechanism, quite a delight to watch them work, it seems like quite a fussy mechanism compared with the more usual inclined dovetail ways and the amount of metal in them is impressive!
The inner handles wind the tables away from the cutter block about 4" each side for easier cutter access. I don't know its age with any certainty but i think its fence design would put an upper limit on its age of perhaps 1910 +/- 10 years. That is a guess based on catalogue cuts and adverts i have seen of Sagar machines using the same fence design, but i have yet to see an image to actually show this exact type of machine.
