I was looking on Craigslist for a Craftsman contractors or something of that nature. One thing led to another and I discovered this Unisaw priced substantially higher than 10" Craftsman contractors saws, found owwm.org and vintagemachinery.org, and bought the saw. According to the man who sold it to me, he had bought it from a hospital where he had been doing some cabinet work. Motor is original induction-repulsion bullet motor, 1725 rpm, which I felt I was incompetent to touch so I had it serviced at Quality Electric Service. I did some other cleaning and service per great advice at owwm. I bought the AB 709 starter off Ebay, built side table and off-feed table, and mounted the fence for left-handed use. Currently I am making a modified version of Gordon J. Sampson's shopmade overhead mounted guard that will allow the use of the original splitter.
