This machine was an unexpected surprise gift I received on August 6, 2004. I had planned a trip to Kalifornika to chase some other rusty iron (more on that later) and get my computers fixed by a friend. I called an old acquaintence, Mr. Kirk Hall, of San Jose, and arranged to meet with him while in his area. The elderly Mr. Hall and his family had operated Hall Machinery, which handled both new and used WWM, for many years. That is where I was first exposed to the wonders of OWWM. I had stayed in touch with Mr. Hall since I left the area 15 years ago. Previously, he had allowed me to make photocopies of parts of his collection of old catalogs. On this trip, I had arranged with him to make some more copies. It turned out that I didn't get to make any copies this time. Instead, Mr. Hall GAVE ME ALL OF HIS CATALOGS! He said he wanted them to go to someone who would appreciate them. Well, I certainly do, and THANK YOU once again, Mr. Hall.
I'll be sorting through them, and submitting what isn't already on the mothership.
If that weren't enough, Mr. Hall also gave me the Ajax Beam Boring Machine shown in these photographs. I can remember that it was on display in the office of his business for many years. I blew some of the dust off with compressed air, but otherwise, it's just as I received it a week ago. THANK YOU one more time, Kirk Hall!
