Comments:
Another of the ubiquitous 103-2179x series jigsaws. Not sure even where I picked it up (for $10 I think), probably the Ann Arbor ReUse Center or perhaps the Kiwanis sale. Lacked any name badge (i.e. was not marked as either Craftsman or Dunlap). Parts were a bit rusty but complete; crankcase was empty of oil; and the fiber parts (two washers and the gasket) were a bit the worse for wear. Replaced the gasket with new gasket material; replaced one of the fiber washers with a bronze thrust bearing. Put a 1/3 hp motor on it, of approximately the right vintage, with a 2" pulley to get the right strokes per minute. Repainted and relubricated seems to work fine. (Use a slightly tapered 1/4" dowel to plug the oil hole while carrying it around.)
