Comments:
A few weeks ago my friend Brian and I went to a gun stock maker's shop to see about buying some walnut. Didn't buy any walnut but did him the favor of removing from his shop this rusty arbor which he was considering making into an anchor. No history; the arbor was given to him by a friend. There are no manufacturer markings except on the sheave. It has a nifty roundish base, healthy babbitt bearings, and is missing tool rests and shields. (May not be missing shields, actually, since in that era there may have been none.) I restored the arbor and am planning to add 10" wheels and a stout motor and make it work for a living.
Dimensions: 11" high, 18" long, 1" shaft.
There are no grinder/polisher arbors in the VM Photo Index to match this design. I asked for suggestions about its manufacture on the OWWM forum, but no guesses came from that.

Comments: This is a plug for Evaporust; this part was soaked overnight and scrubbed a few minutes. Amazing!
